What are Footlights Workshops?
Footlights Workshops are 10 week intensive training sessions finishing with a performance. We have staged west end excerpt concerts, full musicals and self devised ballets all in just 10 Saturday rehearsals. Workshops are a great chance to learn something new and really tighten up those performance skills.
As these workshops are only 10 weeks long they are perfect for anyone who has lots of other commitments and is undecided if they would like to join our classes long term. However many that take part in the workshops are also our most dedicated students who use them as an opportunity to gain additional experience.
Our Ballet Workshops currently run once a year in the Autumn term with a performance before the Christmas Holidays. The performers spend 10 weeks learning Ballet technique and choreography for our devised ballets. We have a mixture of abilities that take part from those with no ballet experience to our more experienced ballet dancers. Our ballets so far have been Frozen The Ballet, The Nutcracker and Cinderella.
Our theatre workshops currently run once a year in the spring term with a performance before the Easter Holidays. So far we have workshopped many musicals such as Matilda, Annie, and Oliver. Each Saturday rehearsal session focuses on singing, dance and drama and the creation of the production.
